hi guys, my question is can a person be skinny but still have an estrogen dominance? or is this highly unlikely as the estrogen dominance would have caused weight gain? or does estrogen dominance just cause food craving, and if those cravings are ignored then it is possible for one to be skinny and estrogen dominant?
I wouldn't ask is it possible.. just ask is it true? Are you estrogen dominant and skinny? If there are factors to think that this is true, then it is..

I feel it can happen, but I think it would be "feminine skinny", not boy-look-like skinny... But everybody is different.. Maybe you are just neutral - with harmony between estrogen and progesteron ? Smile

(I'm negative to "is is possible" because there is so many "impossible" things which actually exist (most famous example of bumblebee which shouldn't fly according to aerodynamics theory, because of tiny wings - now scientifics know why it is flying, but for long time it was "impossible" for science and always possible for nature).

I wouldn't know about others, but I am extremely skinny, and Dr. Lee's website diagnosed me as Estrogen Dominant. Still waiting to do the actual blood tests though!

And in answer to Elwirra's response, I am more boy-lookalike skinny! All straight lines and no curves! Smile

Cheers!

Yea I have not been tested for my hormone levels, but I have been doing alot of research and I believe there are signs that estrogen dominance may be common on my mother's side due to health reasons that my great-grandmother, grandma, and mom had (My g-gma had osteoperosis, my grandma had breast cancer, my mom miscarried at a young age).

So I guess now my thoughts are going to that although weight gain is a sign of estrogen dominance, I guess this would take time to onset so it is very possible that I could be and the signs just aren't there yet because I am still quite young (21).

Thanks for your input guys!!
Ohhh and I started PM, which at first was helping me with vaginal dryness (like for the first week and a half) but as soon as I went into ovulation, I feel dry again and seeing as this is when progesterone should be spiking, I began wondering if I was low.

I think I am going to do PM for my days 1-15 and PC for 16-26 and see if that improves things.
I am skinny and estrogen dominant, as my estrogen is normal but progesterone below the normal range. So, yeah, it's possible. Blush
Estrogen dominance causes miscarriage? I'm still researching all the symptoms of what I have-could have- and have seen that PCOS can cause early miscarriages. Among a million other things lol. I'll have to look into that more.

Yes, from what I have found in my research, it can. Not so much the estrogen dominance, but the progesterone deficiency. Vice versa same thing? So if miscarriages are a concern then one can ask their doctor about using progesterone cream during their pregnancy (up until 7 months I think? You wouldn't use it right until the end).

And postpartum is in part (a large part) due to the drop of progesterone, so PC can also help with that.

Hey Outofstyle!
This is a super delayed response, but whatever. lolz You can absolutely be estro dominate and still be skinny. I am. You may be estro dominant but that doesn't mean you have high estrogen levels. You just have really low progesterone and it doesn't counterbalance with the estrogen. For instance I'm low estrogen and even lower progesterone, but Im still estrogen dominant. I'm recommend getting off PM for awhile and using PC. Estrogen dominance could result in PCOS.
Here's a link that could be helpful to you. It s a method Dr. Lee uses. Good luck dear!
